Being held in two cities of Eastern Hungary, Debrecen and Miskolc, this multisport event gives the possiblity of working at an international event for nearly 1,200 volunteers from all around the world, collecting memories, work experience and most of all valuable friendships.

Requirements

  • availability  of at least 8 days during the preparation and competition days
  • born before 6 July 2008
  • English or other foreign language knowledge is an advantage
  • availability during the whole event is an advantage

Volunteers will support EUG 2024 in areas such as:

Accreditation
Management of accreditation cards of participants, officials, athletes, organisers, media and volunteers according to the requests of the accreditation center leader. Preparing and handing out welcome bags.

Catering
Checking meal vouchers, delivery of take-away meals, problem-solving.

Competition Management
Management of different tasks closely related to the sports (e.g. checking training venues, collecting balls, handling result management systems)

EUSA Volunteer
Working with the EUSA organisers, helping the work of the international office.

Fun Zone, side events
Helping the participants in the Fun Zone playing with different games, helping in the organisation and the management of side events.

Infodesk
Welcoming participants arriving to the airport, railway station, helping them to get to the hotel/stadium. Problem-solving in hotels, center for information about the official results.

Jolly Joker
Helping the work of volunteer coordinators, handling on-demand tasks.

LOC Volunteer
Helping the work of the local organising committee, administration.

Logistics
Mostly physical work, helping the organisers in the making of scenery of different sites.

Media
Helping reporters and journalists by giving them information, results and solving their problem.

Medical
First-aid, administration, translation, calling ambulance, accompanying a person when going to the hospital.

NUSA Volunteer
Helping a country’s delegation solving their everyday problems.

Team Liaison
A team liaison is in charge of handling and solving a team’s everyday problems (e.g. transfer, meals, training dates, changes), while keeping in touch with the organisers.

VIP-Protocol
Helping during medal and other ceremonies.

FAQ

Below you will find answers to the most important questions about volunteering:

How long is the recruitment for volunteering open?

The final deadline for the application is may 31, 2024.

What language do I need to know to be a volunteer?

Knowledge of Hungarian or English is necessary. Any other language will be a great asset.

What is a volunteer provided with?

The volunteer will be provided with meals and drinks during shifts, a set of gadgets and a certificate of participation in volunteering. There will also be a limited number of accommodation avaliable for people from outside Debrecen or Miskolc.

What is the age requirement for volunteers during the event?

Volunteers from Hungary must be at least 16 years old at the start of the event (born before 6 July 2008). Volunteers from abroad must be at least 18 years old.
